Legendary British designer Phil Jones created Airpulse in 2004 to push the boundaries of speaker technology as well as challenge traditional ideas of speaker design. The Airpulse brand is trademarked and owned by the Platinum Audio Systems Company, founded in partnership with Edifier Technology Co, manufacturer of Edifier speakers and headphones.

Specialising in the creation and development of consumer and professional audio products, Airpulse encapsulates Phil Jones’ creative journey spanning decades spent pursuing the development of the perfect loudspeaker. Phil Jones also founded Acoustic Energy in 1987 and designed the world renowned AE-1 near-field monitors that were used in Abbey Road Studios, amongst other notable music venues.
